WWW: World Wide Web

WWW stands for World Wide Web. It is commonly called the WEB. It is a system that is used to store documents and is accessed using URL(Uniform Resource Locator) which are accessible through Internet. These documents are transferred using HTTP requests and can be viewed using software called WEB browser.

History

WWW is invented by Tim Berners-Lee on March, 12, 1989. He was a British computer scientist and a former employee of CERN. Tim Berners-Lee used NeXt Computer as a world’s first web server and to write the first web browser.
