VFX: Visual Effects

VFX stands for Visual Effects. VFX is a technology that is used to create images or videos out of a combination of digital images and live action shots.

In many action movies, we have seen the hero fighting with giant monsters, moving with aliens or in a spaceship, or jumping from the helicopter, all these scenes are created using VFX.

VFX involves the integration of live action footage (special effects) and generated imagery (digital or optics, animals or creatures) which look realistic, but would be dangerous, expensive, impractical, time-consuming or impossible to capture on film.

Visual effects using computer-generated imagery (CGI) have recently become accessible to the independent filmmaker with the introduction of affordable and relatively easy-to-use animation and compositing software.

The most commonly used tool in VFX is a green screen background that can be easily removed from behind the actor after creating the required videos or images on the background.
