Statue of Unity
The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue with a height of 182 meters (597 feet) in the world, followed by China’s Spring Temple Buddha, and Myanmar’s Laykyun Sekkya.
It is dedicated to the ‘Iron Man of India’, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), who was the first home minister & deputy prime minister of independent India.
The Statue of Unity, stands tall atop Sadhu Bet island on the Narmada river in Kevadiya colony, facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam, about 100 kilometers (62 mi) southeast of the city of Vadodara(Baroda), Gujarat, India.
The Statue of Unity is an architectural wonder that was designed by Ram Sutar, an Indian sculptor & built by Larsen and Toubro, and inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on October 31, 2018. It is located in Gujarat, India.
