What is the full form of NRI

NRI: Non-Resident Indian

NRI stands for Non-Resident Indian. NRI is a person who is an Indian citizen but has migrated to another country. The reasons for the relocation could be work, education, residence or some other purpose. 

An NRI must hold an Indian passport and have Indian nationality. 

 According to a Ministry of External Affairs report, there are 32 million NRIs and PIOs residing outside India. India has the second-largest NRIs in the globe after China, as per the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
