LG stands for Lucky Goldstar. It is a multinational electronics company that produces an extensive range of electronic products, telecom products, and chemicals.
It is based in South Korea and its head office is situated in Yeouido, Soeol, South Korea.
The company logo of LG features a circle containing the letters “L” and “G”, presented in the form of a smiling human face.

Brief History
In 1958, LG was established as Goldstar by Koo In-Hwoii. It was the first corporation who came into the plastic industry in Korea.
In 1960, Goldstar manufactured Korea’s first radio.
In 1995, Goldstar joined forces with Lucky Chemical and it was renamed Lucky Goldstar (LG).
In 1995, after the union, it obtained Zenith, a US-based TV manufacturer and changed its name to LG Electronics.
In 1998, the corporation created the first 60-inch plasma TV in the world.
In 2002, it established the CDMA handset production line in China.
In 2003, it turned out to be the top manufacturer of CDMA mobile phones.
In 2004, it introduced the world’s first 55-inch LCD TV and 71-inch plasma TV.
In 2005, the corporation turned out to be the fourth leading supplier of mobile phones in the world.
In 2007, it introduced a high definition disc player and 120Hz full HD LCD TV
Since 2009, LG has owned the domain name LG.com
In July 2018, it was announced that Koo Kwang-mo, the only son of Koo Bon-moo, will be the new CEO citing “first son-only succession rule”.
