What is the full form of IIT
IIT: Indian Institute of Technology
IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology. IIT is the most reputed and recognized institute of engineering in India. IIT is an autonomous public engineering institute that provides engineering discipline with higher education. As of 2020, there are 23 IITs across India. All of these establishments are connected and authorized by the Institute of Technology Act, 1961.
IIT operates a variety of postgraduate and graduate projects in the fields of electronics and electrical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture and computer science, and so on.
IITs follow a standard protocol which is JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) advanced for undergraduate admissions into B.Tech courses. For the entry into M.Tech and PhD courses in IIT, GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted together by IITs and IISc (The Indian Institute of Science).
