Its headquarters is located in Palo Alto, California, United States.

History

HP was founded in 1939 by William Hewlett and Dave Packard.

The company originated in a garage in nearby Palo Alto during a fellowship they had with past professor Frederick Terman at Stanford during the Great Depression.

The company has continued to expand and in 2013 became the second-largest PC vendor in the world.

In 2014, HP planned to separate into two new companies; HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). HP Inc. which is popular as HP and stylized as hp, was established to focus on personal computers and printing business, and HPE for the enterprise technology, networking, storage, security and corporate services.
