GOOGLE: Global Organization of Oriented Group Language of Earth

Officially, Google doesn’t have full form. it’s originating from the word “googol” which means, a very huge number 1 followed by one hundred 0’s. Google Inc is an US based Multinational Corporation & the leading subsidiary of Alphabet and operates as an umbrella to its Internet interests.

At present, it is the most popular search engine specialized in Internet-related services and products. Google is the most used search engine all over the world.

Google’s main functional areas are Online advertising technology, cloud computing, search engines and software.

History

Google has its origins in “BackRub”, a research project that was begun in 1996 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin when they were both PhD students at Stanford University in Stanford, California.The project initially involved an unofficial “third founder”, Scott Hassan, the lead programmer who wrote much of the code for the original Google Search engine, but he left before Google was officially founded as a company.
Following the restructure, Sundar Pichai became CEO of Google while Larry Page became CEO of Alphabet.
In the year 2004, Google launched its free web-based email service, Gmail and in 2005, it introduced Google Earth and Google Maps.
Google has also introduced Android, an open platform for mobile devices and Google Chrome browser.
