BSF: Border Security Force

BSF stands for Border Security Force. It іѕ a paramilitary fоrсе оf Indіа. Its main dutу іѕ guаrdіng India?s land bоrdеr during peace аnd рrеvеnt thе trаnѕnаtіоnаl crime. Established on December 1, 1965, it is a paramilitary force charged with guarding India’s land border during peace time and preventing transnational crime. It is a Union Government Agency under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs.

It is one of many law enforcement agency of India. It currently stands as the world’s largest border guarding force.

Mr K F Rustamji IPS was the first Director General of Border Security Force from 21 July 1965 to 30 September 1974 & current Director General is Mr Rakesh Asthana, IPS, since 17 Aug 2020.
