ACP: Assistant Commissioner of Police

ACP stands for Assistant Commissioner of Police. Assistant Commissioner of Police is one of the higher ranks in the Indian Police Services. Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police, both work at the same rank in the police. Both the designations get 3 stars to wear on their Uniforms.

ACP is responsible for the administration of day to day operations of the department which includes criminal and the related offences. He is also responsible for providing the strong inputs on departmental policies, decisions, and actions. ACP is accountable to his higher authorities and also responsible for making related reports whenever asked.
